When Hinako returns to her home, she'll discover that one of her old toys has been set out for her. This nostalgic item holds one of the game's most intriguing puzzles - the Scales puzzle.

The Scales puzzle can be found on the west side of the Shimazu Residence II map. While there's a spawner in the hallway outside Hinako's parents' room who can make life a little tricky in these close quarters, there's no other trick to reaching the puzzle.
Pro Tip: As the note stuck to the far wall suggests ("fair to both of them"), the trick here is balance. To solve the Scales puzzle, you simply have to arrange the 5 dolls on Hinako's old toy in such a way that the scales even out.
